In 2022, the discovery of a triceratops eyebrow horn protruding from the earth marked the beginning of another thrilling paleontological journey. By the following year, careful excavation efforts had unearthed not just parts of the skull, including the horn, nasal, and premaxilla, but also several ribs. These finds suggest the existence of a more complete triceratops specimen beneath the surface, highlighting the rich potential of paleontology to unlock secrets of ancient ecosystems and the magnificent creatures that inhabited them.

During the excavation of the triceratops skull named 'Athena,' our team ventured no further than 200 feet from the site and made another groundbreaking discovery—a second skull. This new site showcases the triceratops squamosal, a crucial bone forming the left side of the protective shield at the skull's rear. In 2024, we plan to return to this promising site to explore what other secrets lie buried, hopeful to uncover more about the ancient world these creatures roamed.

Paleo Camp serves as our sanctuary amidst the thrill of discovery, where we eat, sleep, and unwind in the heart of nature. It's not just a place to rest; it's where we come together to learn, share insights, and enjoy evening movies on a projector screen under the stars. As night falls, we gaze at the cosmos, drawing closer to the ancient world we explore by day. Here, we ready ourselves for each new adventure, fully immersed in the spirit of paleontology.

In 2017, a triceratops rib fragment led to a remarkable find on a hillside near camp. Our excavating 25 tons of rock in the last five years has revealed a complete pelvis, leg, scapula, skull bones, ribs, and vertebrae. Among these, two fused tail vertebrae with T-rex bite marks stood out, suggesting a dramatic escape. This discovery underscores paleontology's role in uncovering prehistoric life and interactions, illustrating the stories told by predator-prey encounters through fossils.
